Do you have a local market you just adore? Sydney & Melbourne are filled with wonderful markets where you can find the best food, clothes and culture. If your are in Melbourne, the most obvious one is Queen Victoria markets complete with its own little Spanish food district. In Sydney it has to be Glebe markets for me.
They both have their ups and downs and much like retail, should not be shopped too many times consecutively within a season but if you pick your moments your strike gold, oil, the punk bikie jacket of your dreams! For a mere $20 no less *swoon*. What”s your favourite market or favourite buy?
For all you Aussies & New Zelanders: LEST WE FORGET
It seems the emotionally unstable but creative part of my mind has awakened and it has taken over. My mind is constantly swimming with DIY ideas and my time just can”t keep up…wait that seems confused.
Most recently I”ve decided I needed a denim jacket. The kind that”s only in your head and has never been made so yields nothing but frustration when you go on a shopping trip to specifically look for it. Turns out I could create the acid wash denim jacket of my mind hole, all by myself.
All it took was a $5 thrifted denim jacket, high strength lavender scented bleach, a spray bottle and something to entertain the back panel. I chose to use a Pakistani embroidered panel that has been sitting around unused in the house for almost 30 years, longer than I”ve been alive. An awesome print cut out of an old shirt will do too.
I”ve paired it here with a basic black tank, navy cord pants and these gorgeous white heels. So what do you think?
Why should fun things like tutus be reserved just for chiildren? All it requires is a few modifications and subtlty on our parts. I love wearing this deflated tutu like skirt. Made a little longer, blacker and flatter it still makes me feel like an undercover fairy.
On to web-love for the week. Sorry about my absence. I”ve been a jet setter. Hope you”ve had a dandy weekend too 🙂
The Austrlian summer has slipped through our desperate fingers with the memory of one or two sunny days dotted amongst 3 months of flash flooding, hail storms and in some regions, snow.
With the onset of Autumn/Fall our minds are ever confused about what the day might bring which is very difficult when trying to figure out what to wear. Melbourne, you can take back your “4 seasons in one day”. We don”t want it!
Everyday walking out of the house I feel as though I”ve left a perfectly airconditioned plane and into singapore or Malaysia. Don”t get me know I love the countries and frequent them when I can but for all those who have been, there is an undeniable wave of humidity that hits you upon approach.

This is essentially the dilemma Tsardust and I had on our recent expedition to the city. We began all gorgeous jackets and sleeves [note: I want to steal Tsardust“s jacket] and left top layers peeled down embracing tall plastic glasses of refreshing ice filled Happy Lemon drinks.
