Dear Internets,

Our love for Adidas is nothing new. In fact you’ve heard about them from us here & here resulting in a prompt raid of our nearest store for the latest collection. Recently we were given the opportunity to preview the lastest from both Adidas Originals and Adidas x Stella McCartney. Like most design collaborations, there’s no shortage of thrills here but rarely do you find such a stark contrast in design within one brand. Like chalk and cheese or any other comparison you want to make, the difference between these two collections is almost palpable.

Adidas Originals is you slightly crazy older cousin who is too cool for school. You want to be like them, and your parents think they’re a bad influence. Unafraid of color, contrast and bold shapes, it’s a fun fair of attire put perfectly together. Fitted with monochrome Adidas classic tees and jumpers you can dial the crazy down whenever you like for the daily run around, but it’s nice to know the lunacy is available to you. The best thing is, most of it is unisex (or “boyfriend style” if you like) with the inclusion wet weather fancies like these bright anoraks which would come in handy right now in our neck of the woods. The east-coast of Australia has been mighty soggy lately.

Stella McCartney For Adidas - Fall 2008 1

The Stella collection on the other hand  is more like a fairy dream in which you are not only toned and athletic but look like a glowing model while exercising. The perfect motivation for fitness, these vibrant prints, metallics, cute black shorts and sheer paneling was made to be seen ladies! Built with you in mind you get comfort without compromise and finally, athletic shoes in colors outside of the “pink is for girls” spectrum! Speaking of the shoes, they’re now equipped with more technology that it probably took for the moon landing. The styrofoam looking thing the soles of your shoes are made of is called TPU. Give them a push and you’ll see the difference it’s going to make on your running performance while cushioning impact on your joints.

For those of you confined to a gym because of the weather or your preference, There are also cute matching shoes and gym bags in the latest range which I absolutely love. Can I just pretend I’m going to the gym to wear these? The tennis line is also a relatively new addition. Dipping into the past and bringing it forward, the flirty white skirts, tops and dresses will have you challnging contenders on the court like a pro…after that it’s all up to your skill. We can only promise confident cockiness on your part because of your new threads which is a lot more than you’ll get from those old track pants you’re currently sporting.

All these items are set to drop from now until August so make sure that you not only check it out, but keep on checking in, because I’m fairly certain some of these pieces will disappear as quickly as they appeared. Are you feeling Original or Stella?

Dear Internets,

If you follow us on twitter, facebook or instagram, you may have noticed some “no good” hooliganism happening over there. You can blame it all on Hong Kong based brand “SUCK IS FREE” invading our shores last week. With their current SS13 line labelled “U KNOW I AM NO GOOD”, it’s safe to say their punky, hallucinogenic Jap style is probably not the friend you want to introduce to your parents. They may  attempt to lock you in the basement & prevent you from ever hanging out with them again. but since we don’t mind a nice basement, when Lee & I were invited to help launch SUCK IS FREE at one of our favorite fashion den’s +ESTATE of MIND [80 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, Sydney], the word “no” escaped our vocabulary. These are just a few snaps from the night with gratuitous food shots from our Mr Crackles break included because Lee and I don’t know how to celebrate any other way.

A big thanks to Suck is Free, Estate of Mind & ASOF for having us party with you. For out more pics check out Lovage Magazine , 1AM Magazine, or Backyard Opera. You know we’ll have an outfit post for you soon so stay tuned ya lil nasties 🙂

Dear Internets,

The French word Deshabillé (pronounced dez-ha-bee-ay) means “to be partially or casually dressed” or “to undress”. This Sydney based lounge and sleepwear brand created by Roslyn Gleave has a lot going for it. Beautiful prints and comfort to boot, Roslyn brings her fashion design experience to a place that’s often left unexplored – your couch. Yes I’m talking to all those of you who still live in your trackies and for whom the term “lounging” has an entirely different vibe to that which Deshabille conjures up.

Designed to be worn both inside the home and outside, you no longer have to make that difficult decision : “do I change to go buy the milk?….surely no one will see me“. They will see you! Stop wearing your flannelette twin set at the shops. I know onesie parties are all the rage now but unless you are an infant, there’s little excuse for me having to see that when I go to buy the groceries. OK I promise that’s the end of that rant.

A while ago, in celebration of Mother’s day, my lovely mum and I were invited to check out the Deshabille range. Since most of my at home clothing habit’s are modeled after what I grew up with, it seemed like the perfect idea. While the entire collection is rather beautiful, there’s a special place for the Pink Hope range, where a whopping half the proceeds support Pink Hope in their fight against ovarian and breast cancer.

Over delicious food at Pink Salt , we enjoyed what Mum later described as one of her most exciting mother’s days. A huge thank you to Deshabille and Portabello PR for making her day so special. Now for those who haven’t rugged up for winter yet, the cold is coming, there’s a sale on and this robe has your name all over it!

Dear Internets,

Slogan tees have become the new country bicycle. Everyone’s gotten on it and not being one to typically jump on band wagons (especially since I went through my phase about 5 years ago), I wasn’t expecting to be in danger of a purchase when visiting Top shop. Feel free to cue the “dumb ass” sound bite to play on reveal.

It only took two visits as part of my “if you really want it you’ll go back for it and if it’s meant to be you’re size will be available” approach combined with lots of um-ing and ah-ing before I raced to the cash register, Horror shirt in hand. One day I am sure I will cease to underestimate my lust for clothing but until then (to the actual horror of the Mr) I will remain an impulse shopper with lots of fun things I never thought I’d buy. Have you got an impulse buy vice?

Dear Internets,

If you’ve been to the UK or online, you’ve probably heard of River Island. but for all of you Australian Island bound, it’s been an ASOS.com restricted wardrobe dream. THE DARK DAYS ARE OVER. As of a week ago, River Island will ship direct to you! Sauntering into my dream walk in wardrobe set up last week, I was floored by the vast collection. Racks upon racks of clothes separated by style and colour and my gawd the shoes and handbags!

Apart from the monochrome, lace and Gatsby inspired pieces, the extension to our shores fortuitously coincides with their Rihanna collaboration, so there’s one we won’t have to shop on ebay at hyper artificially inflated prices. Speaking of prices, for those of you who have never shopped River Island before, you can tell from these images that you’ll get a good product but for a reasonable price too which is probably the other limiting factor for many of you.

Men, don’t worry, this is one time we have you covered. I was so impressed by the vast men’s line which varied from suits and smart attire to crazy urban and edgy cool. I could just curl up in one of the jumpers and loafers and hybernate this winter…After I’d stolen it from the man’s wardrobe that is.mensriverpink

Thanks to River Island and The Arc Factory for the great preview and hopefully a sneak peek into my future perfectly curated wardrobe. Lastly, thanks to la petite mademoiselle for taking my outfit shots on the night. I’m pictured below wearing a Japan H&M jacket ,hat & necklace, Tokito dress (similar here), Shubar boots, Sportsgirl belt & Coach patent leather handbag from Reebonz.
