I love a lot about kids clothes except for the fact they account for about 70% of my weekly washing. Tutu’s, magic, superheros and cartoons are all perfect but finding things that fit all practical pillars of being durable, affordable, convenient and appropriate can at times be hard to find. When kidswear starts including gold sequin hot pants, kitten heels or highly violent themes, I start to lose interest.
That may be the reason I irrationally decided today that I would buy all practical kids gifts and new clothing for my boys at H&M. With a large variety of sizes and styles all at the right price, why not? It’s the only place I have found a beanie for my 3 month old that is cute and has the dept to cover his ears…isn’t that incredibly strange?
Bibs small enough to fit your newborn? no problem! Frozen themed clothing suited to classic boys style? Indeed! Minions stuff in the girls section? Hells yes, it’s a good movie! The best part is evident in the H&M Studio AW16 collection, that allows children to emulate the grown up style of those they look up to without losing the whimsy and youthfulness you only get once in your life.
I had to stop myself from buying more than bibs and beanies. I’m just waiting for something to necessitate swimmers, sneakers and tiny little casual blazers! Until then, since many of the styles seen in this collections share a common thread (pardon the pun) with their grown up counterparts, perhaps I should treat myself.
