I’ve been rediscovering the magical world of Disney through the eyes of my amazing eldest. In fact I had a conversation about the merits of the film Zootopia with 4 adults and I didn’t even bring up the topic. Combine that with the awesomeness that is 101 Dalmatians and most of the princess movies, you’re looking at many years of nostalgia. You’ve seen me rave about the Disney collabs too, because whats better than Disney apparel? Disney collaborating with one of my favourite brands, Lazy Oaf!
I have a small head. Yup it can’t be denied that when I was born my aunty looked at me and laughed at how small my head was or that in high school I could fit all the hats in Toys’R’Us designed for infants. Do you need more evidence than a friend seeing a photo of me when I saw younger, collapse with happy tears at remarking that my head was smaller than a hydrangea flower. It makes me wonder how on earth my parents found hats for me as a child.
Halloween is only just becoming a thing here and catching on very slowly with many objectors; its sort of like the Trump campaign in that regard (sorry I just had to America). So, it shouldn’t surprise you to find I’ve only had trick or treaters come around once before. When I was younger and according to my inner hipster “before it was cool” I had an annual Halloween party. These day’s I’d rather wear my enjoyment for Halloween on my sleeve with these spooky Mokuyobi patches and leave the candy and monsters to the kids.
Because the latest Heinui campaign reminds me of 90’s pink and blue fete fairy floss, ikea and hiding under doonas (maybe in Ikea), which in my opinion is always a good thing. French fashion designer, Claire Pignot, whose name I’m surely mispronouncing, has a collection that really appeals to my love of chucking on a simple dress that makes you appear more planned and thoughtful.
Have you ever found yourself having singular interests when it comes to colours? I’ve been crushing hard on nudes and blush tones to the point that it even seems to have permeated my make up and meals. I suppose it’s a pretty safe colour palette to consume, I just home it doesn’t morph into something ugly, I’m looking at you ‘the 80’s’!
