Dear Internets,

I am so excited to announce the winner of our TOMY giveaway, particularly since Tomy, Lamaze and Boon are brand we love having in our home.

Entrant #2 Bronwyn Misiak , according to the random number generator, you are our lucky prize winner! We’ll organise to get your prize to you shortly !

Dear Internets,

Just 4 weeks to go and I think I’m entering that “40 weeks is too long, can I have my baby now?” stage some of you know and love. With this joyous phase, comes the rounding up of all my favorite parenting tools because “toys” just don’t cut it when it comes to a screaming infant who doesn’t know what it wants. There are a few things mandatory to the parent’s arsenal that fit in all gladiatorial arenas both inside and outside the home.

Out and About.

Pram toys! Clip it onto a pram, stroller, play gym, highchair….I don’t care, just clip it onto anything near your child when you want a little peace, whimsy and tactile education. Colorful with noisy crinkly bits, horns and mirrors, the Lamaze pram toys are not only educational entertainment, they have cute names and personalities typed onto the pacaking (play along, at-home-mums and dads). Lamaze have 27 all up including  mermaids and pirates, parrots and T-rex’s but my current favorite has to be Daisy Dino.

In the Bath.

For me : Every parent needs a Boon bath pod in their life and it’s my go to gift when I know someone hasn’t beat me to it. We have the old generation Frog pod which has really made the bathroom a safe, clean and fun place to be. Kidlet loves packing away his toys and its much for effective than the old scool nets with the suction pods. My favourite from the new edition is the What pod, complete with a spot to store you soap and washcloths.

For the Toddler : Fun beats safety every time for a toddler so the kidlets current bath time favourite are Boon bubbles suction cup toys.

For bub to be : When space is a premium and your old baby bath is broken, the Boon NAKED two position collapsible bath tub was one of our first purchases, second time around.

In the kitchen.

It started with the Boon Pulp silicon feeder and then spread like fire through my Mother’s group. I ended up having to do a run to Toys are us to stock up Boon feeding toys when the kids started solids and everyone was at the wits end. Since then I’ve gone on to buy :
Squirt, a baby food dispensing spoon which was perfect for feeding bub mushy food on the go
Grass, a counter top drying rack for bottles and utensils making life cute and easy to clean
& Twig to keep all those lids and fiddly things in check.

At home.

My first little one loved the penguin squueze and bend rattle...unfortunaly we didn’t own one so he kept pinching it off other children. Fortunately we had a Lamaze symphony motion Gym to steer our baby away from a life of crime. I’ve got the space symphony and soon my niece/nephew to be will have the pond symphony.

While all this sounds like a tale of shopping, planning and to some extent addiction on my part, it’s really an excuse to celebrate the coming of kidlet 2! Tomy & Bright Green Laces would love for you to enjoy some of these wonderful products and what better way than a give away. So here’s how you play:

What can you win?

Boon are giving you a chance to try their Grass, Suds and Stem while Lamaze are giving you a chance to take Freddie the firefly home.

Dear Internets,

Kidlet’s first birthday has resulted in each room in our house looking like a toy commercial…if toy commercials included the mess of reality. This is particularly true during bath time which is really an unpaid Boon commercial. We’ve got scrubbles, links and waterbugs, but before you start dialling pest control, these are the names of some of kidlet’s bath toys. That bright orange scrubble squirt toy is his fave, possibly due to the texture of the spots feeling amazing on his teething gums. They are BPA free too so I don’t have to worry about toxic leeching plastics.

My fave are the links because I can’t pretend to sit idly by while I’m actually mix and matching foam marine animals while Thomas is enjoying splashing around. You should see the genetic hybrids I’m creating! Once he gets older, the water bugs will really come into their own but for now, it’s nice to have a child enthusiastic about having a bath. Now to figure out how to get Mr prune fingers out of there.

I shop for Boon in Toys’R’Us and Big W so if you know a kidlet who needs a splash incentive this Christmas, it might just be a brilliant idea.

Dear Internets & parentals,

Style is for all ages and Boon Inc. is proof of that. I am currently in that “blocks under-foot and food getting rubbed on my pants” stage so seeing the functional and pretty Boon products scattered through my home looking chic is a welcome change. It started innocently with a squirt spoon to feed bub his first solids without having them chucked back at my face. Soon I moved to the pulp teething feeder after getting annoyed with cleaning the standard net version.

After that I was out of control. I got my mother’s group onto it and justified the purchase of some lawn to dry my lovely boon products on. It’s become so much easier to find his spoons, bowls and bottles instead of searching between the big plates. The twig helps keep the more fiddly things in place and it’s all surprisingly easy to clean, staying scum free between washes. Last (for now at least) came the bath bubbles. Kidlet wasn’t convinced at first but now he’s almost 1, there a fits of giggles at bath time as he tries to stick them all over the tub and pull them off again.

Among the trucks, bouncy balls and hot wheels cars, there are still shreds of more sophisticated kid design that doesn’t stub the toes. Ahhh!
