Dear Internets,

For years, I’ve been a devotee ever since my discovery of UK brand Lazy Oaf on Asos. It’s overflowed here with the release of their Garfield collaboration and now I have exciting news: Lazy Oaf is popping up down under! During 27th Nov to 13th Dec, Lazy Oaf will be squatting at 17 Oxford Street, Sydney in the former ASSIN store.

For three weeks you will great free reign over all their collections, all of which I would love for Christmas…or I guess you could be sane and buy something for someone you actually know, like yourself. Lazy Oaf may be too hot for Santa to handle.

Their range is superb both for men and women and tend to feature crudely drawn food, bold text, and iconic characters. The strange mix of power-puff cute, cooler than ice, batsh*t crazy is just something that resonates with me.They keep offering me spooky eyes, 80’s advertising and mickey mouse white gloves and I keep lapping it up. If you too love a little sunshine and quirky in your wardrobe,  I would definitely recommend a look in before all the best pieces disappear.

Dear Internets,

Last week marked the celebration of American lifestyle brand; Fossil’s 30th Birthday at their Bondi Junction store. 3 glorious decades culminated in the artwork installation pictured above, made from the iconic Fossil watch tins . A symbol of the infinite possibilities of life on the open road, we took photos and enjoying a culinary trip around America to match. Mini hot dogs, fried chicken, hamburgers, cake pops and popcorn in the company of Sydney creatives and the musical stylings of The Voice’s Alex Gibson.

The custom made car will be on display at Westfield Bondi Junction until the 5th of October, after which it hits the open road and heads over the Emporium Melbourne shopping center from the 9th to 12th October. If you are feeling inspired and want to take a tin home, you should definitely pick up a watch. I have a Jacqueline steel watch which I am completely in love with paired here with my Fossil leather clutch. If sales and handbags are more your speed, I have my eye on the Vintage Archive weekender and memoir diary clutch. For the men, there’s the Estate casual leather backpack, which if I’m honest I want too. Yes I am a very greedy girl.

Champagne celebrations, the right mood and a spring night calls for a tried and tested favorite: vibrant jumpsuit, duster, dark lips and sleek hair. While they say you are only as old as you feel, it can be said that you are only as good as you feel too. Whats more reliable than a 30 year old classic?

Hello Internets!

Last week we were invited to Marimekko‘s Sydney flagship store on King Street to take part in the global festivities celebrating the 50th anniversary of its classic Unikko poppy print.

In keeping with the brand’s colourful prints, the store was transformed into a multi-coloured disco for the evening.  It was smiles all around amongst the changing lights, mirror-balls and awesome tunes being spun by some of the guys from Architecture in Helsinki (gotta keep it Finnish!).

Throughout the evening, guests nibbled on Finnish-themed canapés from Café Paci and sipped on Marimekko Royale cocktails.  I was particularly excited that little bowls of Tyrkisk Peber/Turkinpippuri candy were making the rounds – I’m not sure if they were much of a hit with the other guests, but they were certainly a hit with me!

And what’s a birthday without a cake? A giant Gelato Messina ice-cream cake adorned with the Unikko print, that is.  Delicious! Maggie from La Petite Mademoiselle and I decided to take our cake outside the front of the store and chilled on the huge beanbags that were there for the evening … and contemplated how far we could run carrying said beanbags

If you’re unfamiliar with Marimekko, pop on down to the store! I’m definitely planning on returning as I’d love to browse the entire range during the daytime.  There are so many cute items in the homewares range and it’s hard not to want to buy everything.

Hello Internets!

Last Tuesday we got to get our hands on the goods from the hotly-anticipated Adidas Originals x Topshop collboration at the Adidas Originals store in Westfield Sydney.  The collection is every bit as pretty in store as it is in the promo pictures.

Throughout the evening, we sipped on Sofi Spritz and Gaymers Cider and munched on goodies from Snag Stand as we perused the array of Ts, sneakers, sweats and tracksuits from the collection.

Reen and I kept things casual while reppin’ Adidas – Reen with her tshirt, and myself with my sneakers.  If we had to pick our favourite items for the collection, it would be the green Venice tank top, the white oversized sweatshirt and the running shorts.  At the time of writing this, the Adidas online store had only ONE of the Venice tanks left.  People are going nuts for this collection!

At the end of the night, we all got to take home a gift card.  I’ve decided to save mine for a rainy day 🙂

The collection is available online and in stores. Get in quick because things are selling out fast!

Hello Internets!

Valentine’s Day has never been a big thing for me, namely because I’ve spent so many of them side-eyeing all the loved-up couples in my near-perpetual state of singledom.  Luckily this year, my Valentine’s Day turned out to be not too shabby, all thanks to Neiman Marcus and an invite to a wonderful breakfast at the Park Hyatt in Sydney.

The drizzly weather did nothing to dampen the spirit of the morning, with card crafting and a cupcake decorating station amongst the delicious sweet and savoury pastries and fresh fruit cocktails.

I was faced with the dilemma of who to make the card for as I was scoffing down one of my decorated creations (before realising that we could put our cupcakes in a cute little box to take home/gift to a loved one – then I had the dilemma of who I should gift my cupcakes to).

I don’t think I’m terribly good at cupcake decorating nor papercraft/scrapbooking.  The card making was a real head-scratcher for me!

By the time I had arrived at the breakfast, I had sweated off all my makeup thanks to the ridiculous amount of humidity and my hurried walk from Circular Quay station.  I decided to bring a bit of street amongst all the beautiful dresses at the table (i.e., clearly I did not think this outfit through!).  I’m wearing a Romance Was Born dress, Arthur Galan AG pants, and Saint Laurent sneakers. Neiman Marcus kindly gave us a little something to take home – a cute little Michael Kors bracelet! At the end of it all, I decided to make the card for myself along with a little inspirational message and I gave my lovingly-decorated cupcakes to the other single ladies in my office. Neiman Marcus have an Australia website so you can now shop your own bracelet,  and so much more today.
